Track: Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind
Released As: Thao with the Get Down Stay Down
Album: The Thermals/Thao with the Get Down Stay Down 7”
This is a cover of the Lovin’ Spoonful. It was released on an exclusive 7” split with The Thermals for Record Store Day 2009, with two songs from each artist. Thao’s other song was an alternate version of Cool Yourself. There were only 1000 copies made (and no digital version, which explains the poor audio quality).
This isn’t my file, but I do have the record and I am hoping to eventually get the hardware I need to make a rip of Cool Yourself, so hopefully I’ll be able to post that ASAP! You may be able to find it somewhere if you look.

When indie rockstar Thao Nguyen isn’t rocking the stage around the globe, she’s listening to public radio. So of course we had to bring her in to tell a tale about her sweet, lovely grandma - who you definitely don’t want to mess with.
Thao composed all the instrumentals in this segment specifically for this story. The other two songs are from her album, “We Brave Bee Stings and All.” She is currently performing at Radiolab’s live show and is working on a new album.
